Making User Friendly Products: An Introduction to Human Computer Interaction – Abbas Moallem, Tumbleweed Communications
During this session the speaker will define Human Computer Interaction and explain how it leads to user-friendly products. Dr Moallem will then describe the principles of User-centered Design. Following this he will review several fundamental theories in cognition and human factors and their application is user interface and interaction design.
Emerging UI metaphors – Enabling New Human Computer Interactions – Zhivko Dimitrov, Telerik
This lecture will attempt an overview of new trends in User Interface Design made possible with the introduction of recent technologies (WPF, Flex, AJAX). We will trace the sources of new metaphors to real life narratives and analyze the multimedia potential of new technologies to replicate offline interactions more closely.
Making User-Friendly Products: Working and Testing with Users – Dimiter Simov, Lucrat
This presentation explains the concept of working with users when developing software products. It then outlines different approaches for working with users and discusses the timing for doing it – one needs to act differently when testing an existing product, a prototype, or a release candidate. The presentation also gives examples from real projects.
